What happens if DNA evidence is not found?

If DNA evidence is not found, there will be no DNA profiles to make comparisons to or against and a negative DNA report will be issued.  The law enforcement agency may then review the case to determine if there is additional evidence that can be tested or additional information that may require follow up.
