Survivor Opt-Out

Any survivor who does not wish to have their sexual assault kit tested through the SAKI process may elect to opt out of the testing process. Survivors wishing to opt out will need to print a copy of the Opt Out form and return a signed and notarized copy of that form to the Crime Victim Assistance Division. Once that form has been received, the survivor’s sexual assault kit will no longer be considered for testing unless the survivor decides to re-engage with the SAKI process. It should be noted that a survivor is not able to opt out of testing after a kit has already been analyzed; however, the survivor may elect to opt out of reengagement with the criminal justice system and may opt out of receiving any additional correspondence regarding their sexual assault kit as it relates to the SAKI project.
